What connects, and why it matters

Point of sale

Imported sales mix by item and daypart can be mapped to recipes for theoretical usage.

  • Item-level sales import
  • Menu item to recipe mapping
  • Daypart and location detail
  • Void and comp visibility

Vendors & distributors

Catalog, contract price and invoice data can be brought into purchasing through configured file workflows.

  • Catalog and price file imports
  • Purchase order workflows
  • Invoice capture and import
  • Contract price checks

Accounting

Mapped entries instead of a re-keyed spreadsheet at period end.

  • GL account mapping
  • Journal entry export
  • AP and vendor files
  • Inventory valuation entries

Labor & scheduling

Labor cost joins food cost so prime cost is a real number.

  • Labor cost import
  • Hours by location and period
  • Prime cost reporting
  • Overtime exposure

SmartOPS OS suite

Margin shares locations, people and permissions with the wider suite.

  • Single organization model
  • Shared user directory
  • Cross-app reporting
  • One commercial relationship

Structured files

Configured imports and exports keep data moving without claiming a connector that has not been verified.

  • CSV templates by data type
  • Validated import workflows
  • Mapped export formats
  • Implementation testing
02How we connect you

Integrations are configured during implementation

We map your POS items to recipes, your vendor catalogs to your item list, and your categories to your chart of accounts — with you, before go-live.

  • Connector availability confirmed against your exact systems in the demo
  • Item and account mapping done together, not left as homework
  • Historical data loaded so reporting starts with context
  • File-based fallback for any system without an API
03Request a data path

Tell us which system needs to connect

We will review the system, data needed and frequency, then document whether a configured import or export can support it.

04Questions

Integration questions we're asked most

Will Margin work with our POS?+

We'll confirm your specific POS and version during the demo. Item-level sales can be imported and mapped so theoretical usage works without an unverified native connector.

Do our vendors need to do anything?+

For catalog and electronic invoicing we contact your distributors with you. Vendors without electronic capability are handled by invoice capture and OCR instead.

Can we keep our chart of accounts?+

Yes. Item categories and expense types map to your existing accounts; the export matches what your accounting system expects.

Is there a public API?+

A public API is not currently advertised. We will document the supported import or export path for your use case during technical discovery.
